Knit Structures
Knit structure is the primary specification decision in a sock programme. It determines cushioning, compression, ventilation, pattern capability and end-use application.
Plain Knit (Smooth)
Most OrderedThe workhorse knit structure — smooth all-over construction used in dress, liner, casual and corporate sock programmes. Accepts yarn-dyed colour and knitted-in patterns.
Rib Cuff + Plain Foot
Elasticated rib cuff for sock retention paired with a smooth plain knit foot. Standard for crew and mid-calf casual and athletic programmes.
Terry Sole Cushion
Terry loop on the sole only — targeted cushioning underfoot without extra weight on the cuff and leg. Popular in running, hiking and work sock programmes.
Full Terry Cushion
All-over terry loop construction for maximum cushioning and insulation. Suited to winter, outdoor and heavy-duty work sock programmes.
Jacquard / Pattern Knit
Popular FashionComplex multi-colour patterns knitted directly into the fabric structure. No print, no embellishment — the pattern is structural. Popular in fashion, gift and branded retail.
Cable Knit
Raised cable twists and lattice patterns created by crossing stitch groups during knitting. Widely used in seasonal fashion, holiday gift programmes and premium casual socks.
Pointelle / Openwork
Small eyelets and lace-effect patterns created by transferring stitches — a delicate openwork structure. Standard in women's fashion, girls' and infant sock programmes.
Mesh / Open Knit
Open-weave construction with ventilation zones for maximum airflow during activity. Used in running, cycling and performance sport sock programmes.
Compression Knit
Medical / SportGraduated compression from ankle to calf. mmHg rating engineered to specification. Used in medical, travel comfort and sport recovery programmes.

Ten Styles
Sock Styles & Cuts
Sock style — the length and cut of the sock — is specified independently from knit structure and composition. Pakistan’s hosiery factories produce all ten major sock styles across the full range of constructions and fibre blends.
No-Show / Invisible
Below ankle bone
Most PopularSits below the ankle bone — invisible inside low-cut trainers, boat shoes and loafers. The single most-ordered style globally. Non-slip silicone grip tab option available.
Loafer Liner
Covers heel & arch only
Ultra-low cut covering only heel, arch and ball of foot. Designed for loafers, moccasins and formal shoes. Fine-knit plain weave; virtually invisible in formal footwear.
Ankle Sock
Just above ankle bone
Sits just above the ankle bone. Standard for casual and athletic programmes. Available in all knit structures — plain, rib, terry cushion and mesh open knit.
Quarter / Mini Crew
Lower calf
Between ankle and full crew length. Popular for running, gym and casual sport programmes where some calf coverage is preferred without full crew bulk.
Crew Sock
Mid-calf
Best SellerReaches the mid-calf — the most versatile and highest-volume sock style. Suitable for all programmes from plain casual to cushioned work and jacquard fashion.
Knee-High
Below the knee
Extends to just below the knee. Used in dress, school uniform, equestrian and graduated compression programmes (10–40 mmHg). Also OTC compression for travel.
Over-the-Knee
Above the knee
Fashion and specialty lengths extending above the knee. Available in plain knit, rib and jacquard structures for branded fashion and seasonal gift programmes.
Boot / Hiking Sock
Crew to mid-calf
Full- or partial-terry cushioning built to resist boot friction. Reinforced heel, toe and leg. Merino wool, cotton/acrylic or cotton/polyester blends.
Diabetic / Non-Binding
Crew height, loose top
Seamless toe, wide toe box and non-restrictive top band — no elastic compression. Designed for diabetic foot care, post-surgical and sensitive-foot programmes.
Toe Sock / Five-Finger
Ankle or crew height
Individual toe pockets reduce friction and improve grip. Used in yoga, Pilates, barefoot-shoe and specialist athletic programmes. Cotton, bamboo and recycled polyester blends.

Sock Weight Guide
Weight by End Use
Sock weight is specified in grams per pair (g/pair). Unlike woven fabrics rated in GSM, hosiery weight reflects the total knitted pair mass — influenced by yarn composition, knit density and cushioning structure.
25–50 g/pr
0.9–1.8 oz
Lightweight / Liner
Fine dress, liner and no-show socks. Smooth hand, low bulk. Ideal for formal wear, hotel amenity and hidden footwear programmes.
50–80 g/pr
1.8–2.8 oz
Standard / Fashion
The commercial baseline for crew, ankle, casual and fashion socks. Accepts all knit structures and decoration methods.
80–110 g/pr
2.8–3.9 oz
Athletic / Cushion
Cushioned sport, running and work socks with terry zones. Higher yarn density for durability and impact absorption.
110–160 g/pr
3.9–5.6 oz
Heavy Work / Hiking
Full-terry construction for maximum cushioning and insulation. Heavy-duty work socks, hiking and winter programmes.
Weight by Application
No-Show / Liner Socks
25–50 g/pair
Smooth fine hand for formal and hidden footwear programmes
Casual / Fashion Crew
50–80 g/pair
Commercial baseline — accepts all knit structures and colour methods
Athletic / Running
80–110 g/pair
Cushioned, breathable — terry zones underfoot without excess bulk
Work / Hiking
110–160 g/pair
Full-terry heavy construction — maximum durability and impact protection
Fibre Compositions
Compositions & Yarn
The most common sock composition worldwide is cotton / nylon / spandex. Below are the industry’s leading commercial blends — the most frequently specified across fashion, athletic, medical and eco programmes globally.
The blends below cover the most commonly ordered compositions across global hosiery programmes. Bespoke ratios, custom yarn counts and blends not listed here are all available — state your exact specification in your RFQ and we source accordingly.
Cotton / Nylon / Spandex
75% Cotton · 22% Nylon · 3% Spandex
The dominant global sock composition. Combed cotton for softness, nylon for durability, spandex for shape retention. Suitable for all lengths and most knit structures.
Combed Cotton / Nylon / Spandex
80% Combed Cotton · 17% Nylon · 3% Spandex
Combing removes short fibres — softer hand, reduced pilling. Standard for premium fashion, executive gift and hotel amenity programmes.
Cotton / Polyester / Spandex
60% Cotton · 37% Polyester · 3% Spandex
Athletic sock baseline. Polyester wicks moisture faster than nylon, making this the preferred blend for running, gym and performance sport programmes.
Organic Cotton / Nylon / Spandex
75% Organic Cotton · 22% Nylon · 3% Spandex
Same construction as conventional cotton/nylon/spandex — organic cotton source carries full GOTS chain-of-custody. Targets EU/UK organic retail and eco-brand programmes.
Polyester / Nylon / Spandex
80% Polyester · 17% Nylon · 3% Spandex
Full synthetic technical sock — maximum moisture wicking, lowest weight, fastest drying. Sublimation-compatible base. Road running and cycling programmes.
Merino Wool / Nylon / Spandex
85% Merino Wool · 12% Nylon · 3% Spandex
Natural temperature regulation and odour resistance. Industry standard for premium hiking, travel and outdoor programmes. Superwash treated for machine wash.
Bamboo Viscose / Cotton / Spandex
70% Bamboo · 27% Cotton · 3% Spandex
Naturally antibacterial, moisture-wicking and ultra-soft hand. Premium natural fibre positioning for eco-conscious retail and wellness-brand programmes.
Nylon / Spandex (Compression)
80% Nylon · 20% Spandex
High spandex ratio enables precision graduated compression (10–40 mmHg). Smooth microfibre nylon knit. Medical, travel-comfort and sport recovery programmes.
Acrylic / Wool / Nylon
60% Acrylic · 30% Wool · 10% Nylon
Cost-effective thermal/winter composition. Acrylic adds bulk insulation at lower cost than pure merino. Used in winter work socks, thermal casual and branded cold-weather programmes.
Recycled Polyester / Nylon / Spandex
80% Recycled Polyester · 17% Nylon · 3% Spandex
Post-consumer plastic converted to performance hosiery yarn. GRS chain-of-custody certified. Targets ESG-committed sport, outdoor and performance sock brands.

Pattern & Design
Design Methods
Sock design is built into the fabric — not applied to it. Each method has different base fabric requirements, colour range and durability characteristics.
Knitted-in Jacquard
Multi-colour woven patterns — logos, motifs, stripes and geometric patterns built directly into the fabric structure during knitting
Works with
No fading, no peeling — pattern is structural and fully permanent
Yarn-Dyed Stripes
Horizontal colour stripes created by switching yarn colours during knitting — the most common decoration method for casual and fashion socks globally
Works with
Clean colour transitions; stripe width and repeat specified per programme
Intarsia (Colour Block)
Large distinct colour blocks without float threads on the reverse — cleaner back face than jacquard for premium and gift programmes
Works with
Premium finish for high-end branded, fashion and gift sock programmes
Embroidery
Logo or motif embroidered on the cuff, ankle or leg panel after knitting — standard decoration for corporate branded and promotional sock programmes
Works with
Artwork digitised to stitch file; minimum 6-colour logo standard; cuff placement most common
All-Over Sublimation
Photographic-quality full-sock print — any image, unlimited colour range on a white polyester base
Works with
100% polyester base required. Not available on cotton or cotton-blend socks
Silicone Grip Print
Non-slip silicone dots, waves or custom patterns printed onto the sole and/or heel — functional and decorative
Works with
Standard for yoga, grip, baby and non-slip athletic socks; also used on no-show tabs
Plain / Solid Colour
Fully PMS-matched solid colour — no surface pattern. Ankle band, label and custom packaging carry all branding
Works with
Fastest sampling and highest colour accuracy; best combined with a branded ankle band programme
Colour
Colour Options
Every colour programme from plain PMS-matched solids to full sublimation photographic prints. Lab dip approval before bulk production on all programmes.
Solid / Yarn-Dyed
Full PMS range across all knit structures. Lab dip approval before bulk. Navy, white, black, grey, red and custom PMS all available.
Stripe (Yarn-Dyed)
Horizontal, vertical or diagonal stripes knitted in during production. Stripe width and colour count specified per programme.
Jacquard Pattern
Full colour jacquard — any motif, any repeat. Woven into the structure of the sock. No ink, no transfer.
Sublimation Full Print
All-over photographic or vector print. Requires white polyester base. Unlimited colour range, edge-to-edge coverage.
