Pants and trousers from Pakistan are sourced across five primary constructions for distinct market applications: chino twill (220–280 GSM, 100% cotton or cotton-stretch, casual to business casual), formal twill (180–240 GSM, cotton-polyester or poly-viscose blend for crease resistance), stretch trouser fabric (cotton with 2–4% elastane, the dominant corporate uniform and retail casual construction), linen-cotton blend (180–240 GSM, premium casual for summer retail), and technical ripstop (for outdoor and workwear programmes). Extended waistband (standard): waistband extends 1–2 button positions beyond the fly for a closure hook. Flat-front waistband: no pleats, straight across — the dominant retail style. Elasticated back: comfort waistband style; specify elastic width and enclosed or visible elastic. Belt loop: standard 5 loops; specify loop width (1.2–1.5 cm) and bar tack stitching at top and bottom of each loop. Waistband canvas (interliner): non-fused canvas is more durable; fused (iron-on) is the standard for cost.

Step 3 — Fly and Closure Specification

Zip fly: standard for most casual and formal trousers; YKK or equivalent. Button fly: specific fashion-forward or workwear styling; adds cost and production complexity. Hook and bar at waistband: always specify for formal trousers — prevents waistband gap. Specify zip brand if your programme has a preferred supplier.

Step 4 — Pocket Options

Front pockets: on-seam (slant) pockets standard for slim fit; side pockets for relaxed fit. Back pockets: welt (besom) — one or two; patch pocket for casual. Coin pocket: standard for chino; optional for formal. Pocket depth: specify (minimum 18 cm for usable front pocket). Pocket bag fabric: specify whether self-fabric or lining-weight cotton for comfort.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for all retail markets. BSCI or Sedex for EU brand and retail buyers. REACH dye compliance documentation for all EU market programmes. GOTS for any organic fabric claims.
