Key construction features for general workwear: reinforced seams at stress points, bartack stitching at pocket corners and belt loops, and triple-needle stitching on waistbands. Fabric weight below 240 GSM is generally unsuitable for site workwear — abrasion resistance falls off quickly.
Hi-Vis Fabrics
High-visibility workwear requires fluorescent background material (yellow-green, orange-red or red as defined by EN ISO 20471) combined with retroreflective tape. The fluorescent fabric itself is typically a 100% polyester or poly-cotton woven material that meets the photoluminescence requirements of the standard — not any yellow polyester fabric. Untested fluorescent fabric that does not meet the CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates of EN ISO 20471 will fail third-party certification.

Flame Resistant (FR) Fabrics
FR workwear fabrics fall into two categories: inherently flame resistant and treated. Anti-Static Fabrics

The EN 1149-5 standard defines surface resistivity and charge decay requirements.
