Sourcing Surgical Huck Towels from Pakistan: Lint-Free Standards & Bulk Orders

A complete sourcing guide for surgical huck towels from Pakistan — huck weave lint-free construction, clinical GSM options, autoclave and EtO sterilisation compatibility, USA and UK/EU size formats, colour specifications and certification requirements for hospital, laboratory and surgical facility procurement managers globally.

Surgical huck towels from Pakistan are specified for lint-free performance in clinical and surgical environments where standard terry towel fibre shedding creates wound contamination and instrument contamination risks. Huck weave (a 2×2 honeycomb twill on a plain ground) delivers lint-free surface performance because the warp and weft yarns lock together at each intersection rather than forming the free loop pile structure that makes terry shed fibres under mechanical stress. Clinical GSM ranges from 100–130 GSM (laboratory instrument wipe-down and general clinical use), 130–180 GSM (surgical field towel and autoclave-compatible instrument wrapping), to 180–250 GSM (high-absorbency scrub and draping use). Standard sizes are 40×40 cm (USA standard, 16"×16") and 40×50 cm (UK/EU format); both sizes are autoclave-compatible at 121°C and EtO compatible, unlike SMS non-woven alternatives. See the huck towel guide for the full weave construction explanation and clinical application table before specifying.

Pakistan's hospital linen manufacturers produce surgical huck towels in standard and heavy construction for USA and UK/EU size formats. Coordinated hospital linen programmes combining huck towels with surgical gowns, medical scrubs and patient gowns are available through a single consolidated RFQ.

Step 1 — Specify GSM and Clinical Application

GSMApplicationNotes
100–130 GSMLaboratory drying, instrument wipe-downLow absorbency — best for dry-use applications
130–180 GSMSurgical field, wound preparation, general clinicalUSA standard hospital specification
180–240 GSMHigh-fluid surgical procedures, instrument pack wrapGreater absorbency, maintained lint control

Step 2 — Specify Size by Market

FormatDimensionsApplication
Standard surgical huck (USA)17×27 in (43×68 cm)Dominant USA standard — operating field and instrument table
Large surgical huck24×36 in (61×91 cm)Extended field coverage and draping
UK/EU clinical40×60 cmMetric standard — instrument drying and clinical use
Laboratory12×18 in (30×46 cm)Diagnostic and lab use

Step 3 — Sterilisation Compatibility

Specify the sterilisation method used in the buyer's facility before confirming fabric construction for surgical huck towels. 100% cotton huck towels are compatible with steam autoclave (134°C, 3 minutes), EtO and gamma irradiation. Cotton-polyester blend huck towels are NOT compatible with steam autoclave — specify 100% cotton for any facility using autoclave sterilisation. Confirm required wash-cycle durability (100–200 sterilisation cycles) in the RFQ specification.

Step 4 — Colour Specification

White huck towels are standard for operating environments — white allows visual inspection for contamination before re-use. Coloured huck towels (blue, green stripe, or blue border on white body) are specified for laboratory and non-sterile clinical environments for zone differentiation. The blue-border white huck towel is a common USA hospital specification — it provides visual identification in laundry sorting without introducing dye across the full surface area. Specify colour coding requirements in the RFQ for huck towels from Pakistan.

Step 5 — Certification Requirements

MarketRequired
