Stain release: Polyester fibres do not absorb stains as readily as cotton — oil and sauce stains are easier to release in commercial laundering.

Sustainability: Linen is produced from flax, which requires significantly less water and pesticide than cotton. GOTS-certified linen is available for buyers making organic or sustainability claims.

Jacquard (Woven Pattern)

Construction: A jacquard loom produces complex woven patterns — geometric, floral, branded logos or custom motifs — using multiple coloured warp and weft yarns. Different from damask in that the pattern can use multiple colours rather than being self-coloured.

Best for:

• Hotel restaurants with branded tablecloths (logo woven in)
• Premium event linen with custom patterns
